Rhythm of Perceptions — Magic Box

For the Light & Humans course, our group built the “Magic Box” — a lighting prototype that brings the dynamism of natural light into controlled environments.

Using prisms and kaleidoscopes it mimics the broad spectrum of daylight, and lets people interactively customise the atmosphere — selecting patterns and colour filters to reflect their mood. It is a small study of how interactive lighting can personalise a space and shift how it feels.
